TORC — Triangle Off-Road Cyclists!

We are your local Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) / International Mountain Bike Assocation (IMBA) chapter and we help build and maintain trails, put on riding clinics, host group rides, raise money for trail building and maintenance and SO MUCH MORE!

We are

Triangle Off-Road Cyclists

TORC is the Triangle area chapter of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA), which in turn is a region of the International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA)

Our Mission
Triangle Off-Road Cyclists (TORC) is a volunteer organization dedicated to ensuring the future of mountain biking in the Triangle area of North Carolina through the promotion of responsible riding, establishment and maintenance of mountain biking trails, and preservation of North Carolina’s natural resources. TORC extends a warm welcome to everybody who is interested in mountain biking. We offer group rides, clinics and events to accommodate people with different skill levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. In cooperation with our partners and land managers, TORC members help maintain some of the premier trails in the Triangle area and join together in advocating for new trails. As an extension of the Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA), TORC also assists with rides, festivals, and the advancement of off-road cycling throughout the Southeastern United States.

Why we are holding a

this spring

Did you know that TORC volunteers help maintain trails in 12 locations around the Triangle area? These trails are used not only by mountain bikers but by:

  • Hikers/Walkers
  • Dogs and their peeps
  • Trail Runners
  • School kids on exploration adventures
  • Families on outings
  • Nature lovers — of all kinds!!

TORC doesn't have a set of tools for each trail system in the Triangle Area so moving the tools we have around is inefficient. If we had more sets of tools, our volunteers could get out to the trails quicker to do much needed maintenance after rainy periods like we've had for months. This helps the trails open sooner after rain storms so EVERYONE can get back outside and enjoy them. Plus, having more sets of tools means we can build more trails!

Just look at some of these great prizes donated by our sponsors and partners!
